Footsteps a Path to Change 08 Ltd is looking to recruit a **Residential Support Worker** for our 2 bedded **bed residential children's** home located in Leek, Stoke on Trent. Ofsted rated "Good". The home has a child centred ethos which is paramount to its success. A full driving license is essential to the role as is a hardworking and motivated attitude.
Our home caters for young people with highly challenging and complex needs. This means we are looking for people who can think outside of the box and who are emotionally resilient. We are looking for motivated individuals who can build relations and engage with the young people in placement.
We are proud of our **Dog Therapy programme** which aims to support young people in ways, often, only animals can, i.e., offer companionship, develop social skills, reducing anxiety. During visits, with the handler and staff support, the young person can read to the dog, groom him, go for walks, play fetch, learn to use basic commands, etc. We have found even a few minutes spent with the therapy dog can hugely impact a young person's mood and motivate them to engage in tasks they were initially declining. Our programme has the appropriate insurance, training and risk assessments in place to make sure everyone stays safe during a visit.
**Great career opportunity**
**We are a close supportive team** who strive on promoting within and having the opportunity for employees to grow with the company.
You will be enrolled on the Level 3 Residential Childcare Diploma within 6 months of employment.
