Nursing Associate - Hopewood

Hopewood Hospital in Sherwood, Nottingham is a new building that opened in June 2018. This new build created a large expansion of our CAMHS service that was previously based at Thorneywood.

This expansion has created two further CAMHS wards and an increase in beds from 13 to 32 and is based on site with an education facility for our inpatients, a CAMHS community base with specialist teams and both inpatient and community perinatal teams.

Currently all of our wards have exciting opportunities for experienced Nursing Associates.

The Nursing Associate has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses,
working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.

Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate and will work to a nationally recognised Code of Conduct.

A Nursing Associate has a key role within the established multidisciplinary team at Hopewood. You will contribute to the health and wellbeing of young people with excellent community communication skills, sensitivity and compassion. You will have the ability to build therapeutic relationships with young people in crisis. You will support the Registered Nurses to deliver high quality care to young people.

**Our areas of work are**:
Phoenix Ward is a busy 12 bedded general acute ward 24 hours a day, providing highly specialist services, who are experiencing a range of mental health and emotional difficulties.

Hercules Ward is an 8 bedded Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit who support young people with mental and emotional health difficulties who present with challenging behaviour.

Pegasus is a Specialist Eating Disorder Ward providing intensive support for 12 young people. Both Pegasus and Hercules Wards are regional services.
