We are looking for a new member of the team to cover a new contract in Taunton working on an ad-hoc basis, likely to be alternate Saturdays although more hours around the Somerset area are available to the right motivated and flexible person.

Experience of social care, health care or similar helps to show us you have the right values, but the right person is more important than a long CV We provide training, supervision and ongoing support to best support our families.

We provide various support services for children with separated parents, case management and other specialist services. This is delivered in lots of different ways and the role is based across Devon, Torbay, Plymouth and parts of Cornwall and Somerset. Travel is paid, as is milage, and our main office is our family space in Exeter city centre, but we generally work within the community where families need us most.

The main part of this particular role is to help children and the parent they don't live with spend time together in a safe, welcoming and friendly environment supported by our team. There are elements of case management and interviewing parents as well as providing support services to children within this ad-hoc role which makes it exciting and varied. We pride ourself on being professional, maintaining boundaries, being warm and friendly but robust enough when needed.

Some of the families we work with face challenges in their lives, but we believe that shouldn't stop them maintaining some level of relationship with their child if we can help manage that process. We offer contact services in our family space and in the community across the South West and successful applicants will need to fit in with what our service promises to deliver whilst also being a part of the journey to push us forward.

We are seeing such a huge increase in demand for our services and as such need to add a new person to cover the Taunton and wider Somerset area quickly

To be considered for this role:
You'll need to be reliable, flexible and available during the day usually on a Saturday. Ideally we are looking for someone who can do ad-hoc weekends and some afternoon/evenings if required so this is an ideal supplementary income rather than a new full time role with regular hours.

We provide great pay and a fantastic team, but you've got to be available when our families need you which is mainly after school and on the weekends. You'll need some training, which we can support you with. You'll need an enhanced DBS which we can support you with. They are currently taking less than 2-3 weeks so it shouldn't delay things too much

You'll need to drive and be willing to travel around the Somerset area. Milage is paid, and so is your time so don't fret about the fuel bill We don't ask you to transport children or parents but you'll be asked to visit families all around and public transport isn't suitable unfortunately.

You'll need to know basic IT skills, be competent in using an iPad to take notes and be able to write quality observations. Training is provided but if you don't know the difference between an iPad and a kettle you might not be the right fit for us

This role is to cover the Somerset area and is mainly lone working and managing your own families with the support of our case manager. You’ll be jumping in the car to go see families, so you need a reliable vehicle and good timekeeping. Please note the initial training will take place in our Exeter centre, but after that you’ll largely be line working out in the community around Somerset.

Although it will change often we are currently working with lots of organisations such as Devon, Torbay, Somerset, Cornwall and Plymouth Local Authorities, The Family Court system and CAFCASS plus a list of respected legal practices and mediation companies around the South West. As such we want professional, reliable, passionate and fun people. We don't want people whose heart isn't in it.
