- Your Future team:

- Providing innovative solutions to our global clients is the corner stone of the Lex London Excess Casualty team. Our solutions must be easily implemented yet far reaching in scope. Our underwriters are flexible and creative yet willing to provide assistance at any level of the process in order to get the job done. This fast paced team is responsible for a portfolio of complex accounts.
- Your contribution to AIG:

- As an underwriter within the Excess Casualty team at AIG you will be an expert in your field. You will lead by example and you will demonstrate leadership behaviours, you will influence outcomes both internally and externally with integrity and professionalism.
- In this role you will contribute to the growth of the Lex London Excess Casualty book, while fostering a culture of responsibility, accountability and exemplary underwriting standards.
- This role will contribute to the growth and profitability of the Lex-London Casualty Department, which is focused on meeting the needs of large and complex clients domiciled in the United States of America (its territories and possessions).
- This will be achieved by driving the business plans for our business development through underwriting new and renewal business; developing new and maintaining existing broker relationships; assisting in product development and thought leadership; executing the annual Casualty strategies
- This role will require assessment of desirability of risk, through thorough review of proposal, claims history and general company information.
- Use designated underwriting tools and systems, requiring accurate and consistent data entry, to streamline underwriting and information-tracking.- Position Requirements:

- Requires business and market knowledge of Lex London UW of US Domiciled Excess Casualty.
- Proven underwriting experience in Excess Casualty in the London Market with experience and a focus on general liability, transport and railroad classes of business.
- Experience in non-conventional programme structures valuable but not essential
- Risk analysis and technical skills
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments
- Ability to work autonomously whilst being part of a team
- Proven ability to deliver difficult messages whilst influencing positive outcomes
- Project management skills
- Proven ability to network and build relationships
- Ensure contract certainty and compliance with key regulatory, risk management responsibilities; and underwrite within agreed decision-making standards, limitations and underwriting authority.
