Title: Turret Press Operator

Reporting to: Shop floor manager

Location: Glenrothes, Fife

Job purpose: The overall objective of the job is to carry out the safe operation of the Turret Press to ensure all work orders are completed in a timely manner.

Main Roles and responsibilities:
Under instruction from the Shop floor manager/Supervisor you may undertake a variety of tasks to ensure that any particular job is finished on time, to the correct specification and to the required quality standard.

The variety of tasks could include;
The Turret Press Operator is responsible for

Maintaining a level of responsibility and duty of care towards their own health & safety and that of their colleagues when at work and to be aware of any risks and dangers and where appropriate inform their Supervisor or take action on their own initiative to reduce the risk. The correct PPE MUST be worn at all times.

Maintain effective communication with the Supervisor and other Supervisory staff passing on information, concerns and problems with regards to any jobs.

Plan a job through and clarify any areas of confusion with relevant parties prior, to avoid any mistakes or misunderstandings. Identify any hazards or problems you may encounter on any particular job and inform relevant parties of the problem to the best of your ability.

Maintain good relations with other members of the company along with client representatives. Work as part of the team contributing to the team in a constructive manner.

Keep good attendance at work and good time keeping with regard to times of work to include break and lunch times.

Ensure compliance with company Integrated Management System and Client procedures.

All of the above roles/responsibilities should be carried out in accordance with the agreed procedures.

**Experience**

Minimum 1yrs experience of sheet metal working / Press Operating
- Sheet Metal worker

**Education, Qualifications & Training**
- Driving License
- On the Job training will be provided for the use of the Amada Machine
- Manual Handling

**Skills, Abilities &Knowledge**
- Knowledge of workplace safety & safe lifting & handling procedures
- Knowledge & ability to carryout effective maintenance/housekeeping
- Ability to work on own Initiative
- Basic Mechanical Knowledge

- Starting Hourly Rate: £10.80 hour basic (a review will be conducted on successful completion of a 3 month probation period and the basic hourly rate increased to £11.50).

**Salary**: Up to £17.25 per hour
