**Title**: CNC Operator (Trainee)

**Reporting to**: CNC Supervisor

**Location**: Glover Road, Glenrothes, KY7 4AD

**Principal Objectives**:The overall objective of the job is to carry out all sheet metal forming to engineering drawings. To set and run an Amada press brake, turret and laser machines.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Under instruction from the our Trainer, Shop floor manager and supervisor the CNC operator may undertake a variety of tasks with the end result that any particular job is finished on time, to the correct specification and to the required quality standard.

The variety of tasks could include;
The CNC operator is responsible for

Maintaining a level of responsibility and duty of care towards their own health & safety and that of their colleagues when at work and to be aware of any risks and dangers and where appropriate inform their Supervisor and take action on their own initiative to reduce the risk. The correct PPE **MUST** be worn at all times.

Maintain effective communication with the Supervisor and other Supervisory staff passing on information, concerns and problems with regards to any jobs.

Plan a job through and clarify any areas of confusion with relevant parties prior to avoid any mistakes or misunderstandings. Identify any hazards or problems you may encounter on any particular job and inform relevant parties of the problem to the best of your ability.

Maintain good relations with other members of the company along with client representatives. Work as part of the team contributing to the team in a constructive manner.

Keep good attendance at work and good time keeping with regard to times of work to include break and lunch times.

Ensure compliance with company Integrated Management System and Client procedures.

All of the above roles/responsibilities should be carried out in accordance with the agreed procedures.

**Experience**

Any experience of sheet metal working / machine operating is desirable, however fully training will be given.
- Sheet Metal worker

**Education, Qualifications & Training**
- Driving License
- On the Job training will be provided for the use of the Amada Machine
- Manual Handling

- Knowledge of workplace safety & safe lifting & handling procedures
- Knowledge & ability to carryout effective maintenance/housekeeping
- Ability to work on own Initiative

As per Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Employee’s must also

- Additional
- Starting Hourly Rate: £10.80 hour basic (a review will be conducted on successful completion of a 6 month probation period and the basic hourly rate increased to £11.50).

**Salary**: Up to £17.25 per hour
