Head of Credit Risk Strategy

About the roleReporting directly to our Head of Credit Risk Centre of Excellence, we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Credit Risk Strategy to join us.
As we continue to grow and accelerate towards our ambition of being The Best Mortgage Provider in the UK, this is a leadership role that is pivotal in enabling our success.
You’ll combine your strong credit risk foundations with innovative and tangible use of analytics to design and execute risk-reward optimised credit strategies. You'll work alongside multiple business stakeholders to drive sustainable growth, deliver strategic business priorities and transform the Society’s credit risk assessment landscape.
You’ll work very closely with leaders across the organisation and will be a member of multiple Exec-led committees to influence business decision-making as we optimise our target segments and offered products.

- About youComing from a financial services background, you’ll have deep credit risk knowledge in a consumer lending environment - ideally from a mortgage portfolio.
It’s essential that you have an analytical and innovation mindset to develop new ideas and solve complex problems in a changing environment. You’ll have a core strength of bringing stakeholders at multiple levels along the journey with you to enable successful outcomes.
You’ll be an experienced people leader, able to lead managers and analysts whilst promoting a culture of development and intellectual curiosity.
You’ll be comfortable and skilled at engaging stakeholders at both Executive and Board level, building key relationships and influencing wider stakeholders. As you’ll be working closely with a variety of teams across the business, it’s important that you’re able to break down complex, technical matters in a straightforward and concise manner.
This role requires outstanding analytical skills, and an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset. You’ll be at ease with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, SAS/SQL, and awareness of new-age analytical tools like Power BI.
