RTI Health Solutions (RTI-HS) is seeking an experienced medical writer to join our growing Publications team—and you might be just the right person

A day in the life of a medical writer at RTI-HS can include drafting manuscripts in collaboration with research colleagues and clients, leading publication team meetings, overseeing submission of manuscripts to journals, working with editors and graphic designers to produce a beautiful, polished article, and so much more Our team serves as the pivotal point for communications between internal colleagues, external authors, journals, and reviewers. Strong project management and collaboration skills are key.

**This position may be office-based located in Manchester or remote from elsewhere in the UK
**Responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Collaborate closely with internal and external authors and stakeholders to develop publication plans and write scientific publications, with a primarily focus on manuscripts
- Assume project ownership by providing project management support from initiation to publication, including the development of project proposals, managing communications among stakeholders, and overseeing internal quality review processes.
- Confidently lead meetings, particularly when addressing difficult questions
- Evaluate and summarize data from study results, documentation, and the literature
- Develop publications in accordance with company style guide and journal guidelines
- Uphold industry publication standards, including ICMJE recommendations and GPP practices
- Effectively manage multiple project timelines, navigate competing priorities, and cultivate strong client relationships

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, English, or Communications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in writing medical or scientific publications
- Strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal, that includes:

- Ability to transform scientific data into a narrative storyline for publication
- A dynamic writing style, with an ability to tailor content to a specific audience
- Confidence with presenting at meetings
- Ease with navigating feedback from authors and reviewers
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and develop client relationships across projects
- Skill in and motivating a diverse group of stakeholders by adapting to various personalities and needs.
- Capacity to prioritize workload and make strategic decisions when faced with competing needs
- Demonstrates an unwavering focus and drive to meet urgent deadlines, coupled with exceptional flexibility in adapting to changing timelines
- Expertise in Microsoft Office

**Preferred**
- Pharmaceutical industry or medical communications experience, particularly in outcomes research and real-world evidence generation
- Project management experience
- Familiarity with submitting manuscripts to medical journals
- Experience with EndNote reference management software
