We are now looking for an Events Officer to support with the administration and delivery of fundraising events.

**About the Role**

Acorns is currently the UK’s largest children’s hospice charity, in terms of both numbers of children and families supported and annual expenditure on our care work. We need to raise more than £10 million each year to run and support our care services and we rely heavily on the goodwill and generosity of our local community. As an Events Officer, you’ll support this by leading on the administration, coordination and delivery of fundraising events, both third party and Acorns own events.

You’ll be involved with achieving participation targets for events, ensuring that as many people as possible join and attend. You’ll ensure that all event participants and supporters are given a high level of experience before, during and after events, by providing event information and support where needed. You’ll often support with events on the day, helping to set up equipment and guiding participants to where they need to be.

You’ll work closely with your fundraising colleagues to ensure that fundraising targets and deadlines are met by tracking and monitoring progress. You’ll support with the events team’s monthly reporting and payment of invoices.

As Events Officer, you’ll want to keep abreast of industry developments and trends and always be looking for opportunities for Acorns to support new events and grow our portfolio.

**About You**

You will have experience of fundraising events and an understanding of how they work within the charity sector. You’ll have strong administrative and organisational skills and be IT literate.

There will be travel to several sites, so you’ll need to be able to travel independently across the Acorns allocated region, sometimes out of hours and carrying event equipment.
