We are delighted to be Recruiting a Senior Solution Architect with a well-respected Education provider based in Birmingham The Senior Solution Architect provides leadership for the solution architecture team within IT services. The solution architecture teamis responsible for designing and sometimes end-to-end development of new solutions (including requirement engineering). They are responsible for maintaining the University's architectural policies, principles and standards. Additionally, providing qualityassurance and act as the design authority for new technology and business solutions. They also develop and maintain the architectural repository, which contains blueprints and roadmaps for the University's critical technology solutions.

Working as part of the EA leadership team, this role will play a crucial part in the development and maturity of the EA through mentoring less experienced architects, monitoring their progress and setting their goals and objectives. In addition, this role willwork closely with the IT senior leadership team and contribute to delivering the technology strategy.
- Lead a team of Solution and Technical Architects
- Contribute to the development and delivery of Technology strategy
- Lead the development of datacentre and cloud strategy
- Develop architectural policies, principles and standards and ensure technical teams follow them
- Work with the IT senior leadership team and other senior stakeholders to develop strategies and roadmaps
- Define and implement the design assurance process
- Act as the service owner for the Architecture Repository
- Take full responsibility for specification, design and quality assurance of new solutions
- Agree on solution scope, determine and recommend End-to-End solution design that enables the desired business outcome
- Ensure that all necessary Architecture Artefacts are consistently created at the right time
- Monitors technical progress, informing project management of major technical issues and making recommendations on their resolution
- Contribute to the tendering process and product selection and lead technical conversations with suppliers.
Personal specification:

- Previous experience in leadership
- Experience working on transformational programs
- Experience in multiple architectural domains
- Previous experience in implementing a hybrid cloud model, including modernising on-prem datacentre
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good stakeholder management at all levels
- Good technical skills in IT, including cloud services
