**Mitie has a great opportunity for a Corporate Security Officer to join the team in the Birmingham City Centre area working as part of the Frank Knight contract on Colmore Row**

**Pay: £12.00 p/h**

**Location: Birmingham City Centre, Colmore Row**

**Holidays: 20 Days a year**

**Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off Rotating shifts days and nights - 12hr shifts 0700-1900 & 1900-0700**

**Hours: 42hrs A Week Average**

**Probation: 3 Months**

**Job Overview**:
Mitie is looking for a Professional security officer who can deliver exceptional customer service whilst providing a highly visible presence that reduces the impact of anti-social behaviour upon colleagues and customers.
- To create a safe environment, free from crime and the fear of crime for customer and colleagues
- To deliver industry leading customer service
- To manage anti-social behaviour and build relationships with those that cause this
- Engage with members of the public by providing a welcoming presence
- Support the public and visitors with their queries in a friendly and polite manner by demonstrating excellent customer service,Support the Police and crime partnerships where required to aid with the reduction of crime on site.
- Complete internal and external patrols in line with the AI's.
- Be part of the fire response team and deal with fire alrms.
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
- Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
- Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
- To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents
- Follow any reasonable management instructions as per service needs
- Commit to working as one team supporting the contract and client

**What we are looking for**
- Previous Security Experience
- SIA SG or DS License
- Flexibility & able to travel to sites
- Full Driving Licence
- Good literacy and communication skills and have excellent verbal and written English.
- Be computer and software literate.
- Reliability, self
- motivated, and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision.
- The ability to solve problems, make decisions and prioritise.
- The ability to transfer self-motivation to staff.
- The ability, tact, and diplomacy to deal with people at all levels.
- Self-confidence and an interest in self-development.
- An interest in the continuous improvement of the Company's performance.
- The nature of the role is such that it is essential that the post holder has and will maintain an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping.
