**Job Title**: Freelance/Contract Electrician
**Location**: Carlisle
**Rate of Pay**: £16-18 per hour
**Start Date**: Immediate

**Job Summary**:
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Improver on a contract basis. As an Electrical Improver, you will work under the guidance of experienced electricians and contribute to the successful completion of various electrical projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Support experienced electricians in pulling and securing electrical cables through conduits and specified routes.
- Prepare materials and tools for electrical installations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct basic tests on electrical systems and assist in troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with relevant safety standards.
- Learn to interpret electrical blueprints and technical diagrams to understand project specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and participate in routine maintenance activities.
- Contribute to the documentation of work performed and ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipment.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from experienced electricians.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and regulations is an advantage.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
