We are looking for a housekeeper and Gardener / Groundsman couple who have had previous experience working on a private estate. The role for both positions is Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week. The position comes with a separate 2 bedroom cottage and its own private garden. Bills are paid.

There is another couple on the estate so they must be able to work and enjoy working as part of a team. They must be friendly, hard-working and willing as the dynamic and happiness of the staff on the estate is very important to its owners.

Gardener / Groundsman duties include:
a) Security/General Management of the property
b) Gardening - Routine work and help with the kitchen garden and lawn mowing
c) Woodlands - felling/thinning/planting and general maintenance
d) Hedges - planting cleaning and general maintenance
e) Lake - maintaining lake clear of weeds and clearing debris from under the bridge
f) Woodland stream path - mowing and strimming
g) Maintenance of garden and estate machinery
h) Fuel - check oil levels and order as required; provision of firewood to the storage area in the entrance to the house
i) Courtyard/terrace - keep clean and weed free; spraying/pressure washing paving
j) Drains - check and clean all drains
k) Gutters - clear gutters on all buildings yearly; repair as necessary
l) Driving - occasional (train station/airport)
m) Car washing
n) Care of animals - in coordination with EM and G, feeding hens, assistance with any other livestock; care of the dogs
o) Other general maintenance to keep the estate property in good order. You will be expected to identify and make note of work that needs to be done to achieve that objective.

Housekeeper duties will include:
a) Cleaning - main house and guest accommodation; window cleaning (internal/external ground floor), freezer room and loo, let cottages in between lets (no more than once yearly)
b) Washing/ironing
c) Shopping - cleaning supplies and occasionally food d) Occasional help with cooking etc at weekends, not more than once per month
e) Picking fruit/vegetables and freezing
f) Refilling fireside log baskets, laying fires
g) Receiving deliveries
h) Feeding and walking the dogs in our absence
i) Gardening, when housekeeping duties have been completed

The salary will be dependent on experience.
