**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide high-level administrative support to the service, our clients, and key stakeholders.
- Day to day supervision and support for other Business Support staff as required.
- To provide efficient and effective business process & document production including complex minute taking and customer services support to internal and external customers.
- Provide effective financial monitoring and financial data reporting as required.

**Requirements**:

- 5 x GCSE or equivalent (including 1 x GCSE or equivalent in both English and Maths)
- Proven experience in a similar administrative role.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

**Senior Business Support Officer - Children Looked After Service Team, based in Sorby House, 42 Spital Hill, Sheffield.**

Children’s Services within Sheffield City Council have a statutory duty to assume parental responsibility for a child when a care order is made due to the child's parents or family not being able to provide appropriate care for them and the child or young person becomes looked after.

The Children Looked After Business Support Service provide effective administrative duties for the Sheffield City Council wider team of Social Workers in a timely and accurate manner. The Business Support team supports the wider service with processing financial transactions, paying suppliers for good and services, meeting support and note taking, travel and other transport bookings, managing incoming calls from clients, professionals, general public & other organisations, stakeholders., The Business Support team also send and receiving electronic and physical correspondence and information management on an internal case management system. We also support with ad hoc tasks and requests from the team and management that arise on daily basis.

You will be required to demonstrate excellent IT, literacy & numeracy skills as well as good grammar & punctuation in both verbal and handwritten communications are a vital to this role. The postholder will need flexibility in order to deal with conflicting demands and support requests. There are established procedures covering all the main activities and duties of the post and the postholder will be expected to problem solve if necessary and be able to demonstrate experience of working with both internal and external customers to a high level of satisfaction. You will need accuracy and attention to detail to input data reported to authorising and regulatory bodies.

You will be required to provide cover during opening hours and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
