**JOB TITLE**: Senior Transport Co-ordinator

**EMPLOYER**: One Community

**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Transport Manager

One Community offers a community-based transport service to our members and individuals.

Our Transport team promote and maintain the independence of people in our community by providing accessible transport for those with mobility difficulties, whilst also supporting community and voluntary organisations through the provision of community transport.

Our service is known for its caring and professional service to clients who we provide transport for.

**OBJECTIVES**:
To provide administrative support to the Transport Department, liaise with passengers and maintenance providers, and to assist in the co-ordination of vehicles and drivers.

**DUTIES**:

- Receive and make telephone calls to and from passengers and hirers and, take booking and registration information from them in an accurate and courteous way.
- Enter the bookings onto the One Community computer system and use the One Community IT system more generally.
- Schedule passengers and drivers onto the system as required.
- Liaise with other members of transport team to ensure scheduling is correct and to commissioners’ specification.
- Liaise with drivers via 2-way radio, phone and in person, to resolve any issues that arise positively.
- Ensure accurate records are kept in the appropriate place as per requirements and GDPR.
- Supervise drivers and volunteers as per One Community policy and assist with appraisals as requested.
- To provide cover for other members of the office-based team as required, wherever possible.
- Scheduling the Vehicle Maintenance/Inspection (in accordance with Section 19 Operating Legislation).
- Respond to breakdowns and organise solutions as required, which will include assisting clients, arranging recovery etc.
- Sourcing and liaising with maintenance providers to ensure buses are maintained cost effectively and in a timely way so buses can ‘stay on the road’.
- Provide information for monitoring purposes and financial purposes accurately as required.
- Work with other One Community staff, volunteers, Trustees, and members of the public in a courteous and positive manner.
- Have regard to the client’s health and wellbeing and refer or report concerns as necessary with regards to safeguarding for example.
- Contribute to the marketing and promotion of Transport services as required and look for opportunities to provide more efficient, responsive services to clients.
- Liaise with Commissioners and provide information, on occasions as requested by senior staff.
- Assist with recruitment as required.
- There may be occasions where you will need to be able to drive the fleet of buses.
- Any other reasonable duties as requested from time to time by the Transport Manager and other Senior staff.

- Deal with members of the public, users of the scheme and other professionals in an appropriate and sensitive manner and to communicate effectively with them verbally and in writing.
- In all aspects of handling personal information all employees are required to work to maintain confidentiality and data protection
- To participate in One Community meetings and appraisal sessions as appropriate

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £27,744.00 per year
