To develop the most appropriate model and tactics to improve capability for education and research across the region To work in partnership to deliver successful education and research outcomes for hospices To ensure links and collaboration with the varying strategic education and research partners and networks, where there are synergies in pathways and work priorities. To represent LSCHT hospices on regional and national education calls/workshops, to lend our voice to wider strategic and operational conversations and to offer a feedback loop back into LSCHT. Identify and implement collaborations for quality improvement To respond to, and where appropriate seek out, opportunities for joint working between our hospices to drive quality education and more equitable access to high quality To explore, develop and deliver opportunities for sharing our collective resources, driving down needless duplication and costs; ensuring Lancashire and South Cumbrias hospices provide the best possible value for money and highest quality of staff education and training. To establish and drive task and finish groups for the delivery of discrete projects and activities.

To establish the highest quality education and research provision possible within the combined resources of our hospices and their partners. To facilitate more informal pan-hospice networks for developing our workforce, sharing best practice, exploring joint solutions to shared challenges, and peer support. To foster innovation within the sector and encourage cross-sector collaboration. Improve LSCHTs understanding of education provision To understand, map and evaluate education and research provision across hospices To ensure key education information is collected, and used in the same way across LSCHT, finding and using a practical approach that streamlines rather than duplicates provision.

To analyse, interpret and present data to highlight opportunities, issues, risks and support decision making. Bring in learning and best practice from hospices nationally or other relatable and innovative sources To promote the integration of hospice education into wider partnerships/networks, and ensure hospices are recognised as credible system partners. To influence and shape the evidence-based practice and delivery of EOL education and research. Behaviours & activities underpinning delivery To drive regular LSCHT Education Committee meetings and associated working groups: setting up meetings, drafting and sharing agendas, co-chairing as required and taking/sharing minutes and actions and delivering outputs.

To create, adapt and deliver project plans for the overall project and sub-projects, holding hospices and stakeholders within the group to account for their responsibilities in delivery and participation. To support and work within the values and behaviours of the hospices. To work equitably in the best interest of LSCHT, as well as championing hospice philosophy. To nurture key relationships and maintain networks internally and externally, aligning innovation, education, informatics and quality improvement.

To ensure compliance with all confidentiality and governance requirements. To operate effectively in a flexible and demanding environment and proactively engage with key stakeholders. To provide and communicate complex information to a range of internal and external stakeholders (verbal, written and numerical).
