- **Equans is looking for a Payroll - Team Leader to join our team in Newcastle upom Tynre on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.**
**Overview**:
The Team Leader will be accountable for overseeing the delivery of the monthly and weekly payroll activities for approx. 11,000 employees across the UKBU. Ensuring all procedures are followed to deliver an accurate payroll inline with agreed SLAs, KPIs and current payroll legislation. processes.
**Key accountabilities**:
- Manage and co-ordinate the day-to-day payroll activities, including BACS file creation and statutory/business reporting.
- Preparation of monthly performance statistics and senior/stakeholder management updates.
- Identify and drive team development in terms of coaching, training and support, including mid and end year reviews.
- Ensure adequate process controls and segregation of duties are in place, satisfying all internal and external audit standards applicable to EQUANS.
- Provide expert guidance on payroll processes, legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Regularly review the effectiveness of current workload management to ensure SLA’s and KPIs are met.
- Drive excellence in customer service, service delivery and query management, regularly reviewing and implementing effective procedures and processes to support team and process management; demonstrating ‘hands-on’ support to the team where required.
- Develop strong working relationships with the HR Operations Teams to provide advice on process and co-ordinate planned annual activities, all of which maximises operational performance.
- Work closely with the SAP Technical Teams to ensure legal patching is updated in a timely manner.
- Work with the business and SSD team to develop SAP to drive more effective processes.

**Who are we looking for?**:
- You will demonstrate a good knowledge of payroll processes, legislation and compliance.
- You will demonstrate good leadership skills and be a team player.
- You will possess excellent communication skills and pay great attention to detail.
- You will have advanced knowledge of microsoft software packages, knowledge of current GDPR protocols and be able to analyse and solve problems.
This role includes a DBS basic check, therefore ability to pass is essential.
