**Job Details**

As a BTS Service Specialist you will work with colleagues and business partners across the Communities, Finance and Corporate Services Directorates to explore and identify digital opportunities and to co-ordinate and control the activities required to deliver and support BTS services and products to meet the needs of the business.

You will gather and collate information and create reports and insights to support management processes, developing and communicating plans to drive forward BTS strategy. You will have significant input towards the development of policies, standards and guidelines for IT strategy development and planning.

You will have direct reports and will be expected to manage individuals and groups, both within the team and as part of broader BTS tasks. You will allocate responsibilities and packages of work accordingly.

In collaboration with the business, you will specify and design large or complex systems, following appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures, ensuring that they are applied effectively. To do this effectively, you will continually be required to review and monitor other systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technology.

Further activities:
Solutions ownership - responsible for the support lifecycle of numerous existing systems

Investigate Data analytics opportunities

Have, or develop, a strong understanding of Power platforms

Lead the team in seeking opportunities for the use of Automation

Identify ways to improve self-service opportunities across the Directorates

Work with colleagues to find solutions in line with the Service change plans

Supervise staff

Seek training and development opportunities both personally and across the team

Assess current and future projects looking for digital change opportunities

Work with strategic platform teams to understand their existing capabilities to allow us to exploit them fully in line with our approach to re-use where possible

**The Person**

You should have:
Experience of successful collaborative working

Understanding of the security requirements in an area of technical expertise

An involvement in developing sustainable support solutions around customer requirements, focusing on efficiency and value

Extensive knowledge of how to handle and manage problems

Experience in testing system designs, or changes to design

The ability to promote the use of quality standards and advise on best practice
