Job Introduction We have a new opportunity for an Assessment Lead to join our professional multi-disciplinary team. This role is ideally suited to someone who has experience working with looked after children in a residential or social services setting and who has a qualification in Psychology, Social Work or Health and Social care. A Wilderness Way provides a unique approach to residential care, health, and education for children who have experienced adverse childhood trauma. We form a specialist therapeutic team around our children to ensure that they can learn, grow, and flourish. Our Assessment Lead plays a vital role in ensuring that our children’s individual needs are met in a therapeutic way.
**Your role and responsibilities as Assessment Lead,**
- You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to deliver robust assessment plans and outcomes for children in our care.
- Working with the Head of Clinical and multi-disciplinary team, you will develop a clear understanding and insight into our therapeutic objectives so that you can inspire and motivate our care teams in relation to the therapeutic approach.
- You will create and update Individual Therapeutic Support Plans (ITSP) for each child in placement.
- You will visit homes routinely to engage with children and assess their needs.
- You will provide care teams with ongoing support to implement and understand the AWW Assessment Tool and ITSP’s.
- The role involves writing reports, attending regular MDT meetings, and continually analysing children’s needs and placement plans.
- You will be based at Head Office, just outside Penrith. However, you will travel throughout Cumbria to visit our children and care teams regularly.

**What we offer you,**
- ** Overall Expected Earnings**: £29,100 to £32,200 per annum, depending upon experience and qualifications
- ** Hours of Work**: You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Flexibility is required due to the nature of the role

**Key qualities that we look for,**
- Experience of working directly with children in a psychology, social work, or residential child care role.
- A social work or psychology degree, or similar health and social care qualification.
- The ability to understand and assess the individual needs of each child.
- Experience of placement assessments is highly beneficial
- An excellent understanding of safeguarding children
- Experience of collating data and drawing insights and conclusions from trend analysis
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient skills in IT and record keeping
