**JOB PURPOSE**:
The primary role for this position will be to support the Purchasing Manager in ensuring that components and materials are purchased and ready for daily production, and work autonomously, to manage day to day purchasing routines, using their exceptional communication skills, to achieve a win-win in supplier negotiations. Our new Buyer will enjoy thinking on their feet to solve a range of supply chain, product, and packaging issues. A confident, creative, quick thinker, your natural curiosity will deliver opportunities to lead on continuous improvement projects, focused on improving efficiency and compliance.

**Our Buyer will**:

- Report directly to the Purchasing Manager.
- Maintain a steady supply of, quality, cost-effective direct purchases from approved suppliers.
- Foster strong and effective working relationships with suppliers to deliver savings and process efficiencies for direct spend categories.
- Negotiate, agree, manage, and measure supplier performance against defined Service Level

Agreements (SLAs).
- Support the Purchasing Manager on a diverse range of procurement and supply chain projects.
- Work cross-functionally, collaborating with colleagues in Production, Sales, and Quality

**Our Buyer should have**:

- Approximately 3-5 years purchasing experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience of building strong, productive, and effective supplier relationships, using pre-defined SLAs to manage supplier performance.
- A natural curiosity, with a creative and innovative approach to problem solving, and a passion for continuous improvement.
- ERP system experience, with strong administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills.

EFACS experience would be advantageous but no essential.
- MS Office skills would be very advantageous.
