**Job Summary**:
The post holder will be responsible for leading the Sussex Primary Care (SPC) quality and clinical governance programme. You will work alongside the Medical Director and Operational Managers and have a focus on the quality and safety elements of Primary Care. You will be highly visible in SPC Practices in order to monitor the quality of care thus ensuring the fundamentals of care are consistently delivered. The post holder will have a proven track record of delivering quality improvements in primary care.

- SPC Central Team
- Patients and Patient Groups

**Key **Responsibilities**:

- Support the implementation of the SPC clinical governance and risk register frameworks.
- Support practices with delivery of their quality action plans.
- Support the development of SPC policies and procedures and ensure policies are embedded within practices. Ensure systems are in place to monitor quality across each practice to include audit and quality improvement work.

**Main Tasks**:

- Ensure systems are in place to provide opportunities for learning and sharing good practice
- Ensure immediate actions are taken when standards fall short of those expected
- Support the medical director in embedding the governance framework with a particular focus on reporting of significant events. Supporting root cause analysis and identifying, reporting and acting on emerging themes
- Ensure risk registers are up to date
- Actively seek out and organize systems to capture the patient experience
- Display the values that align with the organisation values at all times
- Ensure each practice has systems in place to ensure that all staff are on their professional register
