Senior Compliance Officer- 18 Month Fixed Term

**At a glance**:

- The salary range for this role is set at circa £80,000
- This position is a 18 month fixed term contract
- This is a blended working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the London Head Office. However, there will also be an expectation to visit other locations as the need arises.

**About the role**:
**Key responsibilities**:

- Ensure JLP’s credit broking activities, particularly in relation to point of sale credit propositions, operate in accordance with all regulatory and legal obligations
- Build close and effective relationships with JL Retail and Trading teams to ensure legal / regulatory compliance and to minimise any brand or reputational risk to JLP
- Ensure robust controls are in place and work effectively
- Ensure auditable reporting of the Compliance framework, including all supporting policies and procedures
- Act in accordance with the Partnership’s purpose and democratic principles, constructively participating in co-ownership, and demonstrating to customers and each other that it is a better way of doing business. Share your knowledge, experiences, ideas and opinion to improve the Partnership, speaking honestly and frequently.

**What will you be doing?**
- Provide advice on consumer credit requirements, particularly in relation to point of sale credit propositions, to ensure good customer outcomes
- Embed and monitor the Risk and Compliance Framework which evidences JLP’s adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
- Implement policies and processes to ensure effective oversight and robust controls are in place.
- Work with JLP stakeholders to develop / embed an appropriate risk and controls environment and a customer centric culture.
- Provide training to the JLP business on applicable consumer credit regulation.
- Attend relevant governance fora, and create reports for internal governance committees as required.
- Work with learning and development and Retail to input into compliance training and monitoring programs to ensure shops comply with our regulatory obligations.

**Essential skills you’ll need**:

- Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management, written and verbal communication, Reporting and analytics.
- Risk Management and organisation skills
- Knowledge and awareness of UK Financial Services regulatory framework and understanding of FCA consumer credit requirements (CONC)
- Ideally experience in FS regulatory compliance, monitoring and audit

**Desirable skills you’ll have**:

- Planning and organisation experience
- CISI Compliance Diploma or equivalent experience
- ICA/CII Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance
