Consultant Practitioner & Approved Clinician (Multi-professional Approved Clinician)
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and forward-thinking Consultant Psychologist, Consultant Nurse, Consultant Social worker or Consultant Occupational Therapist who is also a Mental Health Act Approved Clinician
We are looking for a Multi-professional Approved Clinician (MPACs) to work within or across our inpatient and specially commissioned services. As an organisation we take pride in the forward thinking, evidence-based development of our services. In particular, the growth of our MPAC workforce, and increasing our ability to have a blended system whereby a range of professionals can become the Responsible Clinician is at the forefront of this ambition. We have a proven track record in training and deploying MPACs safely and sustainably within Cornwall. Due to this and the clinical benefits these roles can offer to those who use are services, we want to widen and further establish these roles within our organisation
Main duties of the job
Our mission is to provide a safe and empowering environment steeped in a caring, culture of acceptance, curiosity, and empathy. The main function of the job is to support and model these principles whilst acting as a Mental Health Act Approved / Responsible Clinician Health Act (1983 as amended) within our inpatient and / or specially commission services (depending on experience). Specifically, there is scope for MPACs to work within our acute inpatient, low secure, forensic and rehab services in Cornwall.
Our team of highly motivated colleagues are keen to influence change and culture within Cornwall. This newly created post will offer you the opportunity to join us in its development and expansion. As an organisation we will recognise and value your unique clinical expertise, training, and experience, and the contribution you will bring to our service.
We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.
We are a people organisation and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.
Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.
We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.
Just over 532,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
