Opportunity

The Corporate Governance Team supports the Executive Director, Governance and Assurance, in ensuring the University’s governance, quality assurance, legal and regulatory frameworks are robust, equitable and compliant against the backdrop of the changing external landscape.

**Corporate Governance Assistant**

We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual to join the Corporate Governance Team to provide administrative support for governance procedures and the committee framework. You will also provide administrative support for new initiatives and projects as they arise.

You will support team members in all meeting tasks in relation to Council and Senate and their respective committees/panels/working groups, such as preparation of papers, administration of online resources, room bookings, catering orders, and travel and accommodation bookings.

You will also provide an outstanding front-line professional service to students, colleagues, and external members in all aspects of administration undertaken by Corporate Governance.

Working in partnership with colleagues, you will ensure efficient administration of schedules of business and governance processes and policies. We will support you to develop an understanding of the committee frameworks and standing orders relevant to the University. In turn, you will monitor and support adherence to associated deadlines, for example maintaining action logs, schedules of business, supporting the programmes of internal audit, and administering surveys.

You will have great interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve objectives and create positive working relationships. You will be required to process appointments of new committee members including (for external members) right-to-work checks, declarations of interest, Fit and Proper Persons Declarations.

You will have experience of working in an administrative role that involves engagement with people at a range of levels within an organisation, alongside an ability to take and issue minutes of meetings. You will be able to demonstrate good IT office skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in record keeping and preparation of documentation.
