An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Public Health Practitioner to join our Public Health Behaviour Change team. We are looking for someone who is motivated, innovative and passionate about addressing health improvement and meeting the needs of our residents in Lancashire.

The overarching purpose of the Assistant Public Health Practitioner role is to primarily provide project support to areas of work within the Public Health Behaviour Change. Although, this can include support across other areas of work within Health Education Welfare and Partnerships.

The requirements of the role are wide-ranging and provides an opportunity to learn about the foundations of public health with a view to progress further into other roles. The post-holder will contribute to the delivery of the service objectives to promote health and wellbeing, tackle inequalities and improve the health of the Lancashire populatio n within the agenda's mentioned above, working alongside the Public Health Specialist, Senior Public Health practitioners and Public Health practitioners.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with other Public Health colleagues in their interfacing portfolios. Work on wider thematic areas and/or projects will also be expected.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

The following are a range of duties that are appropriate to this grade.
- Support and contribute to the development and delivery of work plans relating to population health improvement.
- Contribute to the commissioning of specific services/interventions identified within the public health improvement team.
- Contribute to work objectives and standards identified within the Health Improvement Team.
- Have solution focussed skills, problem solving abilities and the ability to be responsive to change.
- Ability to oversee the administration of support systems and processes.
- Undertaking specific service support activities including commissioning reviews, service user and stakeholder engagement, contract management support (including minute taking, collation and proof reading of papers and coordination of meetings).
