**We have a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant/Receptionist to join the team at our two practices in Neston and Irby**

This is a full time position, working 36.25 hours per week, covering Monday-Friday with 1:4 Saturdays and will be based at our two practices so the ability to travel is essential.

This is a dual role where your time each shift would be split between providing patient care and also covering reception, so we are looking for a team player who is flexible and adaptable - as there are so many aspects to the role. We need someone who is quick thinking, has the ability to remain calm under pressure but most importantly, is willing to learn

The Patient Care Assistant role is one of the foundations of an outstanding veterinary practice, as a PCA you would be involved in supporting our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide outstanding care to our patients, working alongside a lovely team of people. This role will involve animal handling, assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment, cleaning, walking and feeding patients, general cleaning and maintenance duties, answering phone calls, reception cover, greeting clients and providing the highest standards of animal and customer care.

**Main duties**:

- Nursing care to patients
- Assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment
- Cleaning, walking, and feeding of patients
- Preparation of emergency and operating facilities
- General cleaning and maintenance duties
- Running internal lab samples
- Answering emergency calls
- Serve clients and take payments
- Registering new clients, completing insurance forms and taking payments
- Dispensing medications
- Providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving to the clinic

The salary for this position will be in line with National Minimum Wage +3% cost of living increase.
