We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our savvy finance team as our Trainee Finance Assistant. We will support you to gain a finance qualification via an apprenticeship to kickstart your finance career with us.

Our finance department is the foundation to us achieving our ambitious growth plan. As part of this great team your main responsibilities will be to make sure we pay the right amounts to our suppliers on time. To do this you’ll maintain a clean creditors ledger, which meets our internal and external timelines and preparing monthly statement reconciliations, ensuring that creditors are paid to terms.

Every day is a new challenge but you will be supporting the business to reach our goals, and will be supported as you reach your goals.

Your responsibilities include:

- Monitor internal and external communications for the finance team to make sure all queries are resolved quickly and successfully;
- Making sure that the business always has access to the resources it needs whilst managing cash and spend by managing the creditor ledger. You’ll be working closely with our purchasing team about goods and services as well as checking invoices, ensuring they our authorised and posted to the purchase ledger.
- Matching and chasing any proforma invoices so that all VAT is recovered timely
- Reconciling supplier statements monthly to the system and ensuring that any credit balances are settled.
- Attaching all invoice and freight/authorisation documentation within the system to make sure our records are in great shape
- Working with our people in Hong Kong to make sure that purchase ledger invoices are input onto the system correctly and purchase orders are being closed off.
- Making sure that, once we know what we have to pay is correct and as the company agreed, our suppliers are paid to their agreed terms by setting up payments within the banking system.
- As part of a great finance team, you will support them when they are on holiday by picking up credit control to chase customer payments and other tasks that need completing. Equally they will support you when you’re away.

You will be either studying or willing to study AAT or any other finance professional qualification

Skills required:

- The ability to manage tasks and workloads
- A strong communicator within the CamdenBoss team and with our customers
- An awareness of desire to work in a safe environment
- IT and digital literacy around navigating around systems
- High level of attention to detail

Previous finance experience especially within a PO matching system, working knowledge of Sage 200 and experience of working with currencies (Euro & USD) would be advantageous
