**Job Purpose**

As an Access Hub Clinician you will be responsible for supporting the Hub Patient Service Advisors and Access Hub Coordinators, to triage urgent appointments, take incoming HCP calls, and supervise eHub remote PAs, assist triage of eConsults and deal with simple eConsults, liaise with onsite duty doctors. This is mainly a non-patient facing role, however, you will need to occasionally speak to patients on the phone. The role is ideal for an experienced GP or ANP with broad prescribing scope of practice who is confident in clinical triage.

**Responsibilities**

**General**
- Support our new access hub receptionists to upskill in triaging appointment requests and eConsults into appropriate appointments and signposting where appropriate.
- Triage urgent appointment request once available appointments are full
- Take incoming HCP calls.
- Supervise eHub remote PAs (offer advice, issue prescriptions).
- Assist triage of eConsults and deal with simple eConsults.
- Liaise with onsite duty doctors.

**Other Responsibilities within the Practice**
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
- Commitment and contribution to achievement of the highest possible quality standards such as the QOF and other agreed Key Performance Indicator targets.
- To undertake training deemed suitable for this job description by the Partnership.
- To keep an up to date Individual Learning Portfolio of achievements and training undertaken.
- Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the practice site.
- Attendance at regular in-house clinical, educational meetings and training as well as events with other agencies as appropriate.
- Assistance with the training of other staff members and also with the education of doctors and nurses in training as appropriate. Following undertaking appropriate course.
- To take advantage of opportunities to lead on identified projects at site level - within protected time for completion of the project.
- Other duties or activities as agreed by the partners.

**Other Essential Requirements**
- Fluent knowledge of the English language.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- To demonstrate personal qualities and skills needed for general practice by responding appropriately and sympathetically to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate.
- An ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness, common sense and local knowledge, to respond to enquiries and requests.
- To be able to provide appropriate preventative health care and advice within the context of primary health care and to develop innovative approaches to the development of preventative medicine.
- To take active involvement in clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties needed for the delivery of personal medical services; including basic computer literacy.
- To demonstrate an interest in auditing practice activity and maintaining patients’ clinical records in accordance with practice protocols.
- Participation in appropriate educational activity in order to maintain clinical and or managerial competence and to maintain professional standards as defined by registration, insurance or other authorised body.
