Maintenance Assistant

As a Maintenance Assistant your main duties and responsibilities will be supporting our Maintenance team to work behind the scenes and ensure that our Hotel is a safe environment for guests and team members, working on ad hoc-jobs and communicating with the wider Hotel teams o fix problems when they arise (and predicting them before they do)
To thrive in this role you will ideally already have the following experience & key skills.
- Maintenance assistant experience in any form whether that be Painter/Decorator, General Assistant. If not expereince then a keen interest and a want to learn.
- Knowledge or an interest to learn Health & Safety and be passionate about ensuring a safe working environment.
- Willing to learn new things and work as part of our wider hotel team.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of all areas of the Hotel
- Perform routine inspections to identify any issues or potential problems and report to Chief Engineer
- Follow any Maintenance reporting system that the hotel uses and ensure that all deadlines are met.
- Grass Cutting & garden duties as required.
- Follow maintenance schedules and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
Qualifications:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Prior experience in a maintenance role is preferred but not required
