**Finance Business Partner**

Based in Derby, at the heart of the UK rail industry, Loram UK specialise in traction and rolling stock maintenance, and engineering, rail operations and rail head treatment. We have ambitious plans for growth over the next five years and it is an exciting time to join the company.

**Role Summary**

The Financial Business Partner (“FBP”) is a key member of the Finance team. Working with the Financial Director (“FD”) and Financial Controller (“FC”), the FBP is responsible for ensuring that the business produces accurate and timely management reporting on key business contracts, as well as assisting the FC with calculating Revenue Recognition.

The FBP is responsible for partnering with divisional leaders in the UK business in order to provide financial forecasts to impact and add value to business decisions. The FBP adds value through conversation and knowledge of the business, offering solutions and challenges.

**Key Accountabilities**

**Business Partnering (strategic)**
- Build strong relationships across the business and provide financial support to divisional leaders on contract profitability and performance.
- Be a Financial Business Partner to Functional Directors/Leads by providing financial information to impact and add value to business decisions.
- Attend meetings with senior managers to provide monthly reporting of divisional performance against budget/forecast for their area with any deviations from plan reported and explained. Helping them to understand the key financial issues they need to address.
- Support senior managers with their input into the Budgeting Process annually and the Forecasting Process quarterly.
- Identify, analyse and assist in implementing options for improving performance.
- Business Partnering with the Commercial team to assist the FC with forecasting of future financial performance of the opportunities pipeline.

**Reporting and Analysis**
- Work closely with the FD and FC, to ensure all group reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner.
- Involvement in the monthly management accounts process including assisting in calculation of revenue recognition on key contracts.
- Assisting the FD and FC to provide accurate and comprehensive annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
- Provide commentary on variations from budget and forecast.
- Analyse large volumes of data and manipulate in excel to produce management information for divisional leaders.
- Identification of any problem areas and providing recommendations to senior managers.
- Establish and implement financial models to report on key contractual finance KPIs
- Assist the FC with balance sheet reconciliations including accrued and deferred revenue.
- Report on contract and project financial metrics including revenue forecasts, cost to complete and margin forecasts.

**What we are looking for**:
This would be ideal for a graduate looking to start their finance career or someone with significant experience as a finance assistant/accounts assistant looking for career progression.
