Safer Options Advanced Practitioner X2

Bristol, United Kingdom Bristol City Council Full time

**Full Time, Fixed Term until 31**
**st**
**March 2025.**

We are looking for a Safer Options Advanced Practitioner to join the Safer Options Hub to reduce extra-familial harm and exploitation.

This is a really exciting new post delivering services and interventions to safeguarding children, young adults and families affected by extra-familial harm (including CSE, CCE, Peer-on-peer violence and abuse, trafficking, knife crime and county lines) particularly in respect of locations and peer groups.

This will be an important post for helping shape both national and local learning as to how we approach safeguarding children at risk in our communities.

You will support the development and delivery of contextual safeguarding, which will require the creation and testing of new practice tools, resources and training as our contextual safeguarding framework further develops and embeds.

The role will involve working in a creative and respectful way, building relationships with children, community guardians and connected adults so that assessed needs are responded to effectively by the multi-agency network.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary citywide specialist exploitation team and in the Safer Options partnership. You will be a confident practitioner and used to using your initiative.

**Why Bristol City Council?**

At Bristol City Council, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation. For the majority of our roles hybrid working arrangements are available, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice - mixing both home and office working.

Join us and you’ll receive an excellent rewards package including flexible working and flexitime, membership of the Local Government Pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance. In addition, you’ll be working in a supportive environment where you’ll have the chance to make Bristol a better place and contribute to its future.

**How do I apply?**

**For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.
**For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.**

**If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.**

**Check.**
