We are looking for an experienced COSS who can join our new team, based in the London and Kent region, in a supervisory position. If you think this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you

Health & Safety is at the heart of everything we do, so you will be responsible for promoting and implementing safety arrangements (including close call reporting) and methods of working to ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental policies.

As well as this, the main functions of your role will be to:

- Ensure effective deployment of personnel, plant, subcontractors and equipment, to achieve the allocated site activities within the programme period.
- Carry out inductions, site briefings of method statements and activities, daily inspections and record any changes to methods of work or site conditions.
- Have a full understanding of work objectives, programmes and project details, ensuing the contract is carried out correctly to timescales and to mark up programmes and drawings with progress, on a weekly basis.
- Keep daily site records and returns, as well as identify, photograph and record additional works found to the Project Manager / Site Manager, ensuring return to Head Office.
- Liaise with the Site Manager / Project Manager / Site Engineer, in the event that the allocated site activities cannot be achieved as envisaged or have changed from the conditions assumed.
- Liaise with Clients and visitors to site in a professional manner.
- SMSTS / SSSTS - Essential
- Experience within the Rail sector - Essential
- The ability to confidently lead, organise and communicate with a team - Essential
- Groundworks experience, preferably within the Civil sector including: footbridges, structures, platform refurbishment, painting, steel works, bricklaying, joinery, 360 Excavator, Telehandler, small hand tools
- PASMA / CAT Scan - Desirable
- PTS - Desirable
- First Aid - Desirable
