**Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs? If so, we are looking for a SENCO Assistant to join our team.**

As a SENCO Assistant, you will be working with young children who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties, supporting them with their learning and helping them to develop important life skills. You will be working alongside experienced educators and support staff to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working with young children to support their learning and development
- Providing one-to-one support for students who require additional help
- Creating and delivering engaging learning activities that meet the needs of students with SEN difficulties
- Helping students to develop their social skills, emotional regulation and resilience
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
- Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
- Monitoring and recording student progress and communicating this with relevant stakeholders

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with children or young people with SEN difficulties
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach to working with students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 22.5 per week

**Salary**: £10.00-£10.62 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Nottingham: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Special education: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
- Level 3 Early years educator or equivalent (required)
