**Context**

Organic growth and a series of acquisitions (with others planned) have led to a need for the Finance function within Defaqto to be expanded and strengthened. The role will be focussed on leading the Finance team in Defaqto to support and provide a solid foundation for its continued success with a new level of operational maturity.

In addition, the role will liaise with Group Finance and have responsibility for the local implementation of systems and process improvement projects, including the introduction of new ERP and CRM platforms in the short
- to medium-term.

**Responsibilities**
- Leading and developing a robust finance function, with streamlined systems and controls, that is scalable and capable of supporting the business as it continues to grow
- Delivering timely and accurate reporting, ensuring the integrity of all financial information across the Defaqto business, as well as responsibility for some statutory duties and compliance
- Constructing budgets, forecasts and investment cases, ensuring that they contain an appropriate amount of detail and foresight to assist management in making data-driven decisions.
- Ensuring a robust control environment, including the alignment of systems and processes with those controls
- Undertaking project work, including participating in finance system and CRM implementations
- Providing leadership and management to the finance function day to day, including effective people development and succession planning

**What you will need to succeed**
- ACA / ACCA qualified, ideally with a Big 4 / Top 10 background and demonstrable post qualification experience
- You’re a leader with a successful track record in a commercial environment, ideally with prior experience of IFRS and managing a finance team in a commercial environment
- Highly commercial with strong levels of intellect, capable of operating at both a detailed and strategic level
- Advanced Excel skills
- Dynamism and energy to challenge the status quo
- Analytical and critical thinking
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent intellectual ability demonstrated through experience)

**It would be an advantage to have**
- Experience of data and software businesses coupled with an understanding of the UK retail investment, insurance, financial services and/or financial advice markets would be an advantage
- Experience of Sage or Sage Intact (we're moving on to this)
