International Ftl Planning Manager

We are supporting our client, an established Global Freight Forwarding company with a strong presence in the market who are looking for an International FTL Planning Manager to join their team in Dover.

Depending on experience, you can expect a salary of up to £45,000/annum.

Reporting to the International Transport Manager, you will be responsible for leading the FTL Fleet Department to ensure a high level of service to all customers throughout the UK and Europe
Duties include
- Oversee the training of new staff members to ensure they progress to the required level of expertise
- Profit & Loss responsibility for the Fleet Department
- Commercial awareness of European Export and Import pricing to complete UK customer and Group tenders and provide ad hoc pricing based on Fleet costings
- Management and monitoring of Fleet performance providing weekly reports to Planners and Senior Management
- Supervision and control of all aspects of the daily operation of a busy FTL Fleet department to ensure that collection and deliveries are carried out as per customers instructions
- Timely and effective communication between office, customers, sub-contractors and drivers and any other parties involved in the process
- Using own initiative to make decisions relevant to your area of control
- Holiday and Sickness Cover to be provided for the Planning Desks when required
- General administration
- Commercial representation

Competencies
- Minimum of 5 years' industry experience
- Able to communicate in another European language would be desirable, but not essential
- Able to compile and collate data
- Proven experience in a people facing role
- IT literate in Microsoft Office packages
- Experience of leading a team &/or working towards a Level 3 Management or equivalent qualification

Monday - Friday - 0830 - 1730

Holiday - 20 +Bank Holidays, after two years' service this increases to 22 and then raises every year up to 25 days.
