**Our client is a leading food manufacturing business, they are part of a global business with multiple sites throughout Europe. Due to 2 new production lines being installed and further plans for expansion, they are looking for **Mechanical Fitter** to join their team.**

**Role & Responsibilities**:

- Start on Monday-Friday days whilst completing a comprehensive training and onboard plan
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and routine fault finding mechanically on all food production machinery, equipment and packaging machinery
- Planned mechanical overhauls, stripdowns and repairs of production lines & equipment
- Working on mixers, depositors, ovens, wrappers, baggers, labellers, metal detectors, conveyors
- Use of computerised PPM system to track and monitor breakdowns & PPM tasks
- Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings & diagrams
- Report higher escalation breakdowns to PLC Controls Engineers
- Mechanical fabrication, fitting and welding
- Dealing with gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, pumps

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Must be a mechanically biased engineer
- Very open on industry background - can support new engineers with training & development
- Once trained, work autonomously and unsupervised
- Be mechanically qualified as an engineer
- Able to carry out mechanical stripdowns and overhauls
- Effective fault finding skills
- Mechanical fabrication, fitting and welding skills beneficial
- Able to read and work from mechanical diagrams and drawings
- Willingness to be part of a team, work closely with production staff
- Dealt with gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives, valves, pumps
- Strong computer skills when using PPM systems
- Have a flexible, 'can do' approach to work
- A keen eye for detail
- Be able to follow a logical thought process when fault finding and troubleshooting
