**Trainee CBT Therapist**:
The contract comprises 2 days academic study leave (in term time) and 3 days in clinical practice. Expert supervision and mentorship will be provided.

The post holder will be an experienced individual who will be taking on an additional training role. The post holder will work within the Physical Health Psychology Service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to patients with problems such as depression and anxiety disorders for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.

Trainees will be offered regular clinical and case management supervision to support Trainee High Intensity Therapists to achieve the best results possible for their clients.

The post holder will work across the Physical Health Psychology Service (PHPs) which includes nearly 100 posts.

Within the team there are a range of Psychologists, Psychological Practitioners, CBT Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Occupational therapist, Living Well Coaches, Wellbeing Activators and Administrative Staff.

The department provides psychological care to patients with physical health problems; this includes:

- Long Term Conditions, including COPD, Diabetes and Cardiac problems, Cancer, Neuropsychology and Palliative care.
- Persistent Physical Symptoms (persistent pain, Chronic Fatigue, Medically Unexplained Symptoms), including supporting patients with frequent attendance across the Health and Care System (High Intensity Users - HIU)

The Service also hosts the Wellbeing Service (supporting people within primary care setting with multiple Long Term Conditions or a change in life circumstances).

We also have Paediatric Diabetes posts and are striving to develop a paediatric Physical Health Psychology Service.
