About you...

You will be an experienced Healthcare Assistant with demonstrable experience of working in an acute hospital setting, desirably within the National Health Service (NHS). You will enjoy a fast paced and dynamic environment in emergency care.

You will have completed the National Care Certificate, having completed taught sessions, online learning, clinical supervision and sign-off in accordance with Care Certificate (skillsforcare.org.uk).

You will be passionate about providing person centric care and outstanding services in emergency care, working within a large and diverse team.

Your will advocate for Patients, their Families and your Colleagues.

You will promote and embrace the organisational values alongside your own professional values.

Work with Registered Nurses/Nurse Associates and AHPs/Medical Staff to assess and deliver care according to need.

Provide personal care for patients including but not limited to washing/dressing, nutrition, hydration, continence and mobility.

Undertake clinical vital signs within your scope, calculate NEWS2 and escalate concerns, promptly recognising deterioration.

Uphold and maintain good infection prevention and control practices.

Be alert to safeguarding issues and escalate concerns.

Maintain accurate documentation for care provided.

Undertake care tasks as delegated by Registered Nurses/Nurse Associates, within scope of practice.

Promote independence and patient choice.

Practice in accordance with the Healthcare Assistant Code of Practice, promoting professionalism and trust.

Emergency Care Skills (on completion of training and competency assessment):
Venepuncture and cannulation

12 lead ECG acquisition

Bladder scanning

Assistance with clinical procedures

Enhanced observation skills, including supporting patients with mental health needs, confusion and falls risk
