Cardea Healthcare is a specialist healthcare recruitment agency providing outreach services. We are currently recruiting for charismatic and friendly Children Support Worker who will be working with a variety of children and young people within the community with a wide range of needs.

**Job Summary**

The main responsibilities of the job are to support the children and young people within their own homes or in the community to provide respite care to their carers or to increase social inclusion and life skills.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Social inclusion
- Sourcing activities for the young people to partake in
- Assistance with schoolwork and education
- Managing challenging situations and behaviours
- Writing accurate and factual daily reports
- Promoting and ensuring privacy and dignity
- Working in a team and on an individual basis
- Encouraging independence within everyday tasks such as cleaning, cooking etc
- Assisting with personal care (dependent on need)
- At least 6 months care experience
- Ideally have a driving licence and access to their own vehicle
- An up-to-date DBS
- Willing to travel

- Self-motivated, responsible, and able to act on your initiative
- Be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
