**Role Purpose**

**Senior Estimator**

**Salary: From £41,520.00 - £45,649.00**

This opportunity, based at our **Prestwick** site offers:

**Responsibilities**:

- Establish cost estimates for the construction of competitive quotes for new business and customers ranging from detail parts to major aircraft components and projects.
- Authorised to provide and negotiate quotations to internal and external customers and suppliers within delegated limits
- Ability to read and interrogate detailed 2d engineering drawings and 3d engineering models
- Using engineering data and/or knowledge, compile a fully indented Bills of Material where required in order to define the cost base of a project.
- Compile estimates using parametric or historical data with supporting assumptions where minimum engineering data is available
- Compile estimates using empirical or comparative data with supporting assumptions where historical data is available
- Present estimates, clearly highlighting all assumptions, to others that may not be familiar with the data and issues so that they are readily understood
- Participate in the compilation and maintenance of estimate toolsets to ensure consistency of standard and fast retrieval and amendment of information
- Liaise with other departments, functions and stakeholders in order to obtain and analyse all required data to complete estimates and quotations.
- Evaluate the dataset to ensure that all special terms and needs are understood and accounted for in the estimate
- Analyse actual performance against estimated performance to benchmark the estimate standards and assumptions
- Provide an estimating service to the Projects and Functions in support of engineering change and cost reduction opportunities
- Continually update knowledge of technology, manufacturing techniques, supplier capability and commercial governance
- Participate in contract and commercial negotiations as required in conjunction with Commercial team members. Represent the company at senior level customer reviews when required
- Develop and maintain standard templates in line with policies and procedures

Qualifications:
**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Extensive manufacturing and technical background
- Experience in the manufacture of Sheetmetal, Machining and Composite details and assemblies would be advantageous
- High level of general IT skills with ability to extract, analyse and compile various data formats
- Systematic and uniform approach to complete tasks in timely manner
- Competent in job role, coupled with minimum five years’ experience in a technical environment
- Adequate knowledge to undertake job role with potential to develop further through on job and vocational training.
- Continuous Improvement and Cost Saving expertise on manufactured parts and processes would be an advantage
- Developed commercial and financial awareness
- Ability to communicate written and orally both internally within the business and externally with customers.
- Ability to manage complex tasks and small projects
- Understanding of Contract Terms and legal requirements
- Knowledge of export control of data and product requirements
