**What you will do**

In this vital role, you will lead and be accountable for all sales and marketing strategy and execution for commercially important brands in the General Medicine and Inflammation Business unit for the UK Affiliate.

You will report to the Business Unit Director and will be responsible to deliver sales, market share, budget objectives as well as delivery of strategic brand plans.

As an experienced people leader, you will lead a brand manager and sales team within the therapy area and play active role in shaping a positive, motivating workplace culture.

Key responsibilities include:
Marketing Leadership
- Develop & execute full brand plan(s) for strategically important brand(s)
- Detailed analysis & interpretation of data, trends & insights to evaluate & refine brand strategy & tactical plans
- Act as country brand ambassador, sharing & maximizing best practices aligned with Global-with-Local operating model
- Own investment decisions, challenge decisions, leads business case development for additional resources
- Co-own short & long-range sales forecasting for brand(s) in collaboration with Business Planning and Analysis and the Business Unit Director

Sales Leadership
- Strong matrix management of both Field Force and HQ cross-functional resources. Using your own broad commercial acumen and leadership skills to align team around the strategy and drive strong execution.
- Lead the translation of brand strategy into account and customer plans delivered through a high performing team of Regional Account Managers (RAMs). Develop customer and market insights and an understanding of brand drivers to determine the most effective tactics.
- Collaborate with Business Unit leadership & Brand team(s) to deploy people, budgets & resources most effectively. Identify & drive the right objectives, tactics, investments, channels & resources in the right accounts.
- Accountable for ensuring RAMs deliver territory growth through focused execution of tactical plans, brand campaigns, key account plans, customer engagement KPIs and Beyond the Molecule solutions. Support the Business Unit in maximizing omnichannel customer engagement approaches.

People Leadership
- Drive the Business Unit culture and motivate and lead the team to achieve / exceed objectives through goal setting, team development and performance, “Maximising Amgen’s Performance” process, Career Development Planning, talent and succession planning, compensation planning, recruitment etc

- Degree educated in relevant field with proven experience in pharmaceutical Sales & Marketing Management
- Marketing or Business Administration qualification (degree with professional marketing qualification (Chartered Institute of Marketing or similar, or working towards)
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Expert in industry, healthcare system and therapy area knowledge
- Demonstrable strong financial acumen and analytical capability
- People leadership and management experience
- Experience of working with omnichannel marketing including digital
- Fully proficient in regulatory framework and code of practice (ABPI / IPHA)
- Experience of developing and winning commercial tenders
