**Role Summary**:
The main purpose of the PL Kicks Targeted Officer role is to deliver a specialist service to young victims or witnesses of gang related crimes or serious youth violence linked into the focused Kicks areas.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include delivering support to young victims of gang related crime both on a 1:1 basis and work in partnership with other professional colleagues in the borough. The PL Kicks Targeted Officer will develop and deliver innovative interventions to address the needs of children and young people, involving them in service design, delivery, and evaluation. The role will also require you to develop good working relationships with partner agencies and undertake detached/outreach youth work with other YOT workers engaging with hard to reach and hard to engage young people within their own communities. The role will also involve developing and delivering workshops to young people on the project as part of group work.

The post will be based in the community and linked in with Hammersmith and Fulham Youth Justice Service, but there will also be co-location working.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To monitor and demonstrate improved outcomes for this cohort of young people.
- Engage and inspire participants in the programme with a focus on young people
- Deliver against agreed targets as per the project plan and funding conditions
- To plan, deliver and evaluate services to young people identified as at risk of gang involvement.
- Plan, provide and evaluate individualised 1:1 mentoring support for local people as requested
- To plan, deliver and evaluate appropriate interventions to these young people through socialisation, recreation and learning within a framework of age-appropriate informal education and other measurable personal development outcomes.
- Develop a knowledge of all opportunities for young people in the community and signpost accordingly
- Deliver effective mentoring sessions using a range of restorative approaches for local people as requested
- To ensure that young people are involved in the planning, organisation, and delivery of the project
- To establish and maintain effective working frameworks with other relevant agencies working to deliver services to young people at risk or involved with gangs.
- To share information and intelligence, where appropriate
- To actively access and participate in training opportunities.
- To work closely with the Deputy service manager, community safety, and Business Support Officer to set and monitor and maintain budgets commensurate with the running requirements of the project
- To comply with the authority’s financial regulations and standing orders.
- To prepare, monitor and evaluate programmes in line with specific funding requirements.
- To maintain a proactive approach challenging prejudice and discrimination in all its forms and promoting social cohesion.
- When required, provide cover and assistance for other coaching staff across all boroughs/areas that the Trust operates. This cover may extend to attending meetings, conferences, workshops, and events if required.
- Continually monitor and evaluate all sessions, activities and programmes and adapt delivery accordingly.

**The type of experience we are looking for**:
**Qualifications**
- Minimum FA Level 1 in Coaching Football
- Recognised Youth Work Qualification Level 2
- Driving Licence (desirable)
- In date DBS. Safeguarding & First Aid Qualifications (desirable)

**Skills, Knowledge, Experience**
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of direct work with young people, 10 to 19-year olds
- Experience of working with young people involved in gangs
- Track record of developing and managing strong community relationships
- Mentoring young people through coaching or teaching
- Supporting socially excluded young people
- Evaluating the impact of sessions
- Partnership working: experience of working effectively with a range of agencies to achieve good outcomes for young people, e.g. schools, Police, Youth Projects, housing
- Knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding principles and procedures
- Ability to work Flexible hours to respond to availability of the networks to be worked with - evenings and weekends on a planned basis.
- Experience delivering community-based session to differing sized audiences (Desirable)

- Time management and administration skills
- Able to use a variety of delivery styles to engage and motivate individuals
