Communications and Engagement Officer

Lincoln, United Kingdom Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We're looking for an experienced and passionate communications and engagement specialist who has a passion for the armed forces and helping people access support for their mental health and wellbeing needs.

Our newly developed partnership, who deliver NHS OpCourage veterans mental health and wellbeing services across the Midlands, are looking for someone to be a dedicated resource to help them promote the service across the region, encourage veterans and their families to seek help and learn from people's lived experiences to make our services even better.

You don't need to have experience of working in the armed forces, just a passion to use your skills as a communications and engagement expert to make a difference.

We are looking for someone who is great at engaging people from a wide range of backgrounds and communities, knows how to tell a story of hope and recovery and knows the tools and techniques to spread our messages far and wide.

If this is you then we'd love to hear from you.

Based as part of the Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust team, who are the lead provider in the partnership, you'll be the lead communication and engagement specialist for the OpCourage Veterans team across the Midlands region.

The role will largely be delivered virtually, but with some occasional requirement to travel across the region to support events, collect veteran stories and undertake engagement activity, alongside the teams in our seven partner organisations.

You'll be responsible for planning and delivering a robust communications and engagement plan, delivering regular communications and engagement activities with a wide range of internal and external audiences.

You will write and coordinate regular updates and promotional materials for each of the partners to use locally, collecting case studies of people using our services and health professional advice to veterans on a range of mental wellbeing topics.

You'll also be responsible for developing and maintaining dedicated social media channels and website content and using these as both a communication and engagement tool.

Some experience of collecting video case studies and designing social media graphics would be beneficial.

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health services and a number of learning disability, autism and social care services in the county of Lincolnshire. Employing around 2,800 staff, and serving a population of over 766,000, our people lie at the heart of everything we do.

You could be part of a Trust rated by staff as one of the best mental health and learning disability trusts in England, in an area heralded as a fantastic place to live and work. We firmly believe the key to high quality care is a contented workforce. This is reflected in our Care Quality Commission rating of ‘outstanding’ for well-led and ‘good’ overall. In the most recent National NHS Staff Survey, our staff rated us as the number one trust nationally for staff morale and one of the top scoring NHS Trusts in the Midlands for being compassionate and inclusive. We’re really proud of this

We are also leading the way in transforming care, with multi-million-pound transformation of patient environments and radical redesign of community services.

This is the time to join and help redesign our services of the future. We offer options for flexible working and provide a wide range of training and promotion opportunities in all professions. We support and celebrate diversity, have active staff networks groups and are always looking at what more we can do to support our staff.
