**OVERVIEW**

We are currently recruiting for a buyer to join a luxury brand in the Manchester area as they continue to grow as a business. You will be responsible for sourcing and choosing products, discovering new brands and opportunities which will be commercially beneficial for the business. To oversee our suppliers, maintaining and growing these relationships.

Exploring the capabilities of the partner brands to ensure the team is equipped with the appropriate products to win new and ever diverse projects. Working with and supporting our internal teams, to closely monitor gaps and weaknesses in our product offering. Working to increase company sales, by keeping product offering fresh and relevant. Negotiating favourable supplier terms and samples agreements to help increase the gross profit margin.

**IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- Previous experience in Buying
- Previous experience in a management role
- Previous experience in luxury homeware or interiors sectors would be preferable
- Eye for quality and product trends
- Highly presentable and personable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Naturally motivated to accrue new business and suppliers, to increase GF’s product offering and GPM
- A pro-active and self-motivated can-do attitude with the ability to multi-task and manage your own time effectively
- Commercial and strategic understanding
- A keen interest to learn and absorb production and technical knowledge
- A relaxed approach to national and international travel at times with short notice
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a positive attitude in providing solutions
- Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs

**THE ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Representing the brand, visiting trade shows, manufacturers, craft fairs and exhibitions nationally and internationally to find new product and meet existing suppliers
- Proactively planning and leading product initiatives such as market exclusives, first to market launches, delivering across all departments
- Increase the customer facing team’s awareness of best margin products, and encourage increase in sales to help maximise and grow the company’s profit
- Investing time in our supplier relationships to understand their capabilities and building the relationships; visiting their production centres when necessary with a view to enhancing technical and production knowledge
- Using knowledge gained in the field, providing guidance on which supplier and products are most appropriate during internal project brief meetings
- Proactively identifying product gaps in our portfolio and identifying new trends.
- Manage, organise and motivate the Samples, Design and Supplier Resources departments, including training and mentoring.
- Developing new product training sessions for the internal teams to share this knowledge
- Working with internal teams and suppliers to resolve any supply and demand issues, being able to resolve issues in a timely and confident manner, using own initiative, whilst upholding our high levels of service
- Overseeing the department budget including samples, travel, product development and software
- Negotiating for favourable terms, prices and loans, contributing to our stock of showroom samples along with purchasing new products.
- Analysing and reporting on customer buying patterns to increase sales and maximise profit
- Preparing and planning for regular progress meetings with line manager
