An exciting opportunity has arisen for Healthcare Assistants to work at Chalkhill, Princess Royal Hospital Site as part of the Sussex Partnership Bank Team and based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

The staff who work across these wards are very supportive toward their fellow workers and always provide a caring environment for their service users. The ward staff are interchangeable and will help on other wards at this hospital, if the need arises. It has a strong working together team dynamic.

Chalkhill Unit cares for and treats children and young people (aged 12-18) who are experiencing emotional difficulties, mental health problems and eating disorders.

It is a small bespoke 15 bed unit in Haywards Heath, with a very friendly and supportive team of staff who cater for the needs of all who access their service in a professional and caring manner.

Parking is limited on site but local roads can be used. There is a train station which is an approximate 40min walk from the unit but buses stop regularly outside the main entrance to the Princess Royal Hospital.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

In order to be a successful Healthcare Assistant in our team you will:

- Work with the multi-disciplinary team to establish and deliver a therapeutic programme of care for our patients.
- Undertake care duties for patients on the ward.
- Report patients condition to qualified staff
- Document care delivery in patients notes.
- Implement individual patient care plans
- Participate in meetings, training and other work related forums.

Our wards are looking for a compassionate and person
- centred experienced Healthcare Assistant with an ability to work in a flexible manner to meet the demands and needs of the service.

The successful applicant would be expected to work as part of the team undertaking the assessment, care and treatment of patients experiencing an acute mental health crisis, working in a recovery-orientated manner towards the ultimate discharge of the patient.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are a large Mental health trust looking to add Healthcare Assistants to our Flexible Workforce (Bank) Team. The Sussex Partnership Bank is a dedicated flexible team providing the highest level of healthcare support across all wards and departments.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide exceptional support to both our clients/patients and their carers and relatives whilst maintaining professional boundaries. Our Trust was recently upgraded by CQC as GOOD in every domain except CARING, which was EXCELLENT. Due to this we are now the third leading Mental Health Trust in the country. We will strive to maintain our standards and always improve where we can and you will play an important part in this.

- Day: 07:00 - 19:30, 07:00 - 21:00
- Night: 19:00 - 07:30, 20:30 - 07:30

**It would also be advantageous if you**:

- Have experience working within a mental health setting
- NVQ Level 2 in care
