Support the communication of complex legislation (including Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005) and associated Trust policies to staff and managers based upon an in depth technical knowledge and relevant practical experience. Monitor, record and report the efficacy of educational input and levels of engagement/activity. Support and promoted reflective practice amongst staff in relation to their ongoing education and clinical practice for patients presenting with mental health needs. Ensure educational materials comply with legislation and local/national clinical guidelines.

Support the education and training department in the development and delivery of mental health, mental capacity and learning disability input as part of formal educational delivery to staff, including, but not limited to, as part of Associate Ambulance Practitioner, Graduate Paramedic and Patient Transport Service courses. Quality Improvement Identify and support opportunities for quality improvement within mental health care delivery in the Trust. Work within established quality improvement methodologies to deliver. Deliver projects at the direction of their line manager.

Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health, mental capacity and learning disability and autism policy within the Trust. Liaison Liaise with staff and managers throughout the Trust in relation to mental health education and quality improvement. Liaise with external partner organisations to ensure shared learning across organisations and to utilise external resources/experience as required to enhance the education material and quality improvement outputs. Clinical Maintain own professional registration in accordance with the requirements of the relevant registering body.

Undertake clinical shifts alongside other ambulance service clinicians and ensure safe and effective management of patients, appropriate documentation, and delivery of care within professional scope, local and national guidelines and Trust policy. Act as a role model in demonstrating safe and compassionate care to those presenting to the trust with mental health needs. Coach and mentor staff in relation to the delivery of mental health care within the trust. Support the clinical supervision of staff within specialist mental health roles within the Trust.

Where required, undertake operational duties as a clinician, including in unpredictable and adverse environments using highly developed physical skills to undertake clinical procedures as appropriate and in line with training and clinical guidelines. Other Ensure equipment to be utilised during the educational delivery is safe and fit for the purpose and carry out minor servicing/assembly as required. Maintains patient derived information in accordance with Caldicott Guidelines and the Data Protection Act. Assist in ensuring building security is maintained and breaches in security are dealt with in accordance with Trust security policy documents.

Operate and utilise I.T. equipment and advanced I.T. skills in order to compile and deliver training packages, in accordance with Trust IM+T Policies. Participate in relevant clinical audits and assist in the implementation of findings, promoting effective and appropriate use of evidence-based practice.

Maintain the Health, Safety and Welfare of staff and visitors from other organisations extending beyond the normal hours of duty who are participating in training and/or assessments under his/her supervision and ensure all staff within their care are aware of and carry out their obligations and responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act. To participate as directed in any activity for which they are qualified /specialised at the direction of their line manager
