This post is for a full time 37.5 hours band 3 Physiotherapy assistant within the Elective Orthopedics Physiotherapy team currently based at City hospital. You will be responsible for providing rehabilitation to patients that are recovering from Musculo-skeletal issues following elective Surgery. The role will cover a mix of pre-operative and post-operative contact with patients. There are also non -patient facing work/administrative tasks that fit into the hours of this role requiring IT skills. You will be required to work both independently and together with the qualified therapists. The post includes week day and a weekend day as regular hours.

Main duties of the job

Band 3 Therapy Support Worker -Full Time Permanent or secondment

We are looking for a dedicated, hard-working, team player to join our highly skilled team of therapists and support workers delivering excellent physiotherapy care to our patients here at Nottingham University Hospitals You must have relevant experience in therapies, be quick to learn and enjoy working in a busy environment. We will support you with a significant induction programme and on-going training and development.

This post is within the Elective Orthopaedics Physiotherapy team based at City hospital. You will be responsible for providing rehabilitation to patients recovering from musculo-skeletal issues. You will be required to work both independently and together with the qualified therapists. There is also an additional requirement to work every weekend plus the bank holiday rotas as part of a 7 day service.

We have a Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction, and many of the pathway leadership team have pathway AHP backgrounds to support our staff. There are also Practice Development Therapists to support career development for all.

The post is that of a therapy support worker providing specific lower limb elective orthopedic patients assessments and treatment to patients under the guidance and supervision of a registered therapist. Some clerical and administration tasks will also be undertaken (eg keeping records, filing or arranging appointments as appropriate). When working with in-patients, the role will be to provide rehabilitation and interventions to facilitate the safe discharge of patients.

- GCSE (A-C) or equivalent in English and Mathematics
- Previous experience as a Physiotherapy or Health / Rehab Care Assistant
