Animal Care Technician

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Technician to join our team. As an Animal Technician, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to the animals in our facility. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals with a passion for animal welfare and veterinary care.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform daily tasks related to the care and well-being of animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians or supervisors
- Assist with handling and restraining animals during examinations or procedures
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior, and any treatments or observations
- Clean and sanitize animal enclosures, equipment, and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Provide enrichment activities to promote mental stimulation and socialization for animals
- Assist with the transportation of animals within the facility
**Experience**:
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting is preferred
- Knowledge of basic animal care practices and procedures
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical treatments is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Comfortable with heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as some animals may require assistance
