**Trust Facilities Officer - Caretaker**

My client is looking to appoint a practical and well-motivated person for the post of Trust Facilities Officer (Caretaker), to join their team of committed staff. The client is very proud of their historic buildings, so they especially want someone who willreally care for the location, ensuring they look its best, is safe and exemplifies the high expectations they have.

**Pay**: aprox. £20,043 pa

**Hours: **37 hours per week

Required to work a shift pattern for 7.4 hours per day on rota between the hours of 7.00 am to 22.30 pm. Examples of rota 7:00-15:00, 9:00-17:00, 12:30-20:30, 10:00-18:00.
- Have to undergo enhanced DBS check
- Must be a driver
- Have the ability to undertake practical maintenance — for example, grounds, decorating, general repairs
- Be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
- Good communication skills with people at all levels (children and adults)

**Job role**:
Property maintenance:

- Carry out general maintenance of minor or temporary repairs as directed.
- Sweep concrete areas, pick up litter and be responsible for the removal of all debris from paths, play areas, grassed areas, flowerbeds and all entrances

Security:

- Opening and closing, unlocking and locking of gates and buildings
- Setting of alarm system
- Monitoring and administering CCTV system
- Register as main Key Holder and be the first point of contact in an emergency callout

Grounds maintenance:

- Keep all hard surfaces free of moss and weeds
- Use grounds equipment (mower, scarifier) on grass areas and distribute replacement grass seed

Heating, lighting and water:

- The switching off of all lights and appropriate electric plug sockets
- Read Gas, Electric and Water metre as required reporting any unusual usage to the site manager
- Monitoring and setting of heating controls and boilers
