Catering Supervisor

We are looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Catering Supervisor.

**Job Title** - Catering Supervisor

**Location** - Tredworth Infant School, Tredworth, Gloucester

**Salary Scale** - Grade 3 £21,189 FTE

**Hours** - 30 hours per week, 8.00am - 2.00pm Monday to Friday (10 minute break incl.)(term time only, plus inset days)

**Line Management Responsibility** - Catering Assistant and Kitchen Assistant

**About the role**

With relevant cooking skills and an ability to develop working relationships, you will help in the preparation, cooking and delivery of our daily lunch service. To carry out the professional duties of a catering supervisor and prepare, cook and serve healthy school lunches of the highest quality for the children and staff which meet the Governments National Nutritional Standards.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- To further improve the catering provision at Tredworth Infant and Nursery Academy.
- To achieve best value without compromising quality including negotiating the best value contracts with authorised suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness of the catering service.
- To be responsible for the performance of the whole school catering provision.
- Actively promote the school meals service to pupils and parents to increase uptake of healthy school meals.
- To ensure the attractiveness of catering provision including food presentation at all times.
- Ensure effective portion control and mínimal wastage.
- Serving meals in a polite and courteous manner to all children, staff and visitors
- Carrying out emergency feeding if required
- Responsible for planning menus of the highest quality for each school day
- Cater for special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, allergies), cultural and religious needs
- Responsible for stock control
- Responsible for Health, safety and hygiene
- To work without direct supervision and be responsible for Personnel

**Experience & Qualifications**
- Applicants must hold a NVQ level 2 catering qualification or equivalent and a food safety award in catering certificate or are willing to obtain this award.
